Gary~ I have chills! I'm at work and must control my emotions to some extent but I'm brought to tears my friend...thank you for your descriptions & your passion. I know I speak for ALL when I say, we look forward to your adage following a show. Hope you are feeling better!

P.S.S., Yeah, I know, STOP ALREADY!

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the band absofrigginlutely OWNED Jethro Tull's "Locomotive Breath"!

They've always been known and remembered for their classic take on the Stones 2000 light years, Bowies Moonage Daydream, Beatles Walrus, and the Alex Harvey Stuff, but the new editions of the Moody Blues and Tull were beyond expectations! and, giving Paul a much needed break, they did the Tull song as a 4 piece, and ripped it a new A-HOLE!

They OWNED that J.Tull and Moody Blues tunage!

WELL DONE, GENTLEMEN!

P.S., South Carolina was in the house and represented by Jeff Carr, A good guy who had not seen the band since 1976, who flew up for the party, now expanding the Keep It Alive Family. (I'll be in touch Jeff, to get some vintage MC in your hands).

And Gary Mac, e-mail me for info on how to get that stellar Crack The Sky DVD from you, Would love to see it, makes a great xmas gift....hint, hint. haha.

BEST REUNION SHOWS TO DATE!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely Stunning!

Websters dictionary defines stunning as;
"Causing Astonishment or Disbelief"/
"Strikingly Impressive especially in Beauty or Excellence"

Both nights were unbeliveable! I cant quite put my finger on it. Perhaps it was a combination of things, but the band was SO tight and Powerful that if you closed your eyes for a moment you would have thought it was the Seventies all over again.(except for the snow crusted Bell Bottom Jeans)

Was it the Additional Rehearsal Time?
Was it a taste of victory over the recent illnessess that have hampered the band? Was it a sense of urgency that time is slipping away from us all and the need to go down swinging? Was it the long lost chemistry between 5 guys who formed a brotherhood so very long ago and that chemistry, that bond, reared it's glorius head with a vengance as if to say; "Go Ahead, Take Your Best Shot, I'll be there when you need me" and it WAS? Maybe I'll just blatenly steal Randys thought and just put it down as "Magical". Whatever the case, for those of you who were there, you saw the best of the best this weekend, and for those of you who weren't, the sure to be posted video clips that will make their way to You Tube will prove it.

Random Thoughts in no particular order; Tim's opening which this year incorporated a story which allowed all the members of the band to be introduced to the stage to thunderous applause, The Christmas season upon us, the band's first number, appropriately enough, an instrumental version of The Little Drummer Boy, Leading directly into "Everything's Going To Be Alright" and from there, the band was off and running with enough Power and energy to light up the Browns Stadium! (By the way, thats the ONLY bright spot the Browns have had this year, Sorry Rick!)

The Ferocity coming from the stage literally blew everyone back into their seats like that famous JBL speaker ad where the guy is holding on for dear life to his chair from the music coming out of the speaker cabinets!

From the beginning, Phil was commanding the stage like a field general, shouting throughout the bridges and choruses to his fellow soldiers on stage things like "C'MON!" and LET'S DO THIS!" and making huge bold moves, windmilling like a young Pete Townshend, and hitting Power chords like a Steel Worker driving rivets into Steel I-Beams.

Pat was actually AIRBORNE for some songs, leaping into the air with wild abandonment, picture the energizer battery bunny amped up on Red Bull, all the while holding down an amazing low end groove which allows the Guitars to do what they do best. Pat had his feet up on the Drum Riser, rocking out like a one legged man in an a*s*s*kicking contest, and he was WINNING!

Bob Steinmetz, (hereafter referred to as "The Metz") well, The Metz was clearly having the best time I've witnessed during all of the reunion shows I've seen! All smiles and off the cuff noodling on keyboards, the keyboard Christmas interludes between songs, and His Sax solo on Friday night was the stuff legends are born from. He was SO HOT that Paul, In mid-song mind you, got off the stage and moved the legendary Leg lamp down to the floor so the people seated on the side could witness the greatness that is "The Metz".

Tim was beating the drums like;
A. A Chinese Coolie driving railroad spikes for Union Pacific,
B. A Rented Mule.
(No offense To either catagory above)
What a showman, What a drummer. I Hail You, Tim Cole.

I cant even begin to tell you just HOW GOOD it was to see Paul Pope holding a Black Les Paul In His Hands Again! Time has come around Full Circle, and there it was, maybe a different version of the long gone Black Beauty, but a New Black Beauty looked and sounded majestic beneath his gifted fingers. (As It Should Be.) Dog Dance definately hit the emotional spot as the song is so much more meaningful when taken somewhat seriously without all the clowning and inadvertingly making Paul crack up laughing during the song as in years past. Tears in my eyes. (As it should be.) Side note to Mr Pope, Hey Paul, Have you ever thought about shopping that song to the ASPCA or Animal Planet? That song is a winner, I forsee huge bank for you if you get it into the right hands.......I mean if Sarah McGlaughlin can get her song on with ASPCA, (Which also induces tears, that damned commercial) why not you?
Anyways, Paul will always be Paul and his leads, (I know, I've said it too much already, but hey, it's true) are the stuff legends are made of. Good Luck Paul and Carrie! May you be Blessed!

The harmonies on Feather Dusters and Sugar Boogie and well, everything, were the best I've ever heard!

All In All, and to bring this full circle, These were, in my humble opinion, The Best Reunion Shows to date.

To the guys in the band, Congratulations on keeping this magic alive!
To the Ladies, Terri, Sondra, Carrie, again, you combine Grace with Beauty, Boundless energy and enthusiasim, and the shows would would not be as unabashedly fun without your participation!

To all of my extended family of friends, Mark and Judy, Big Al and Justin, Greg and Lynne, Rick Nelson, Mike and Crew, Gary Mac, The Schwab Family and Friends, Jeff and Holly, The Miletti Family, Security at the Winchester and anyone else i'm too brain dead to remember, Thanks for your friendship, Merry Christmas, and Hopefully, we'll do this all again in the future!

Randy, you are, and will always be, "The Man" thanks for getting us to the shows and back.

Rick, thanks for letting me hang with you guys at the Rock Hall.

Jeff, Thanks for going, I'll think of you when The Christmas story is aired for the 12th straight year as a 24 hour marathon on Cable. It made it more fun to go with someone, although my favorite bit may have been the Ratty bar across the street...........

Chris, Many thanks for giving us this stellar website to keep everybody connected!

Dont forget, Keep This Board Alive!

My wife, brother-in-law & sister-in-law enjoyed show last weekend. Our only experience with Molkie Cole was in 1977 at a place called The Swallows in Zanesville, OH. I later found your album at a record store in Athens (still near mint condition). 32 years later, you still rock. Hope to see you play again.

Hello Everyone! It was great to see you all at the show! As some of you may have noticed, I was doing some video taping, and tonight I changed the homepage with a clip from my footage. The clip has been uploaded to youtube, as they have the ability to host HD videos. By default, the clip does not play in HD, but if you click the button that say "HD" you can watch it at a higher quality. I hope everyone has a great Holiday and please let me know if you have any problems viewing the video clip.

Thanks!

Not to worry my friends, knocked down a little with bad flu, (Airplane? Climate change?) and going to work sick cuz I needs me the Money. Flat on my back afterwards. Will post customary review of show later today or definately by weekend.......

two quick strikes though to tide you over,

1. Jeff, you are spot on, I surely DIDNT need the hotel pre-wrapped chili dogs.....(You do the Math)

2. Gary Mac, not wanting to dispute your whole "Bad Relationship" angle on "Dog Dance", but Paul himself, from the stage, on Sat. Night Show exclaimed that he wrote the song for his dog, no more, no less, Rick taped the show, you can hear it from the man who wrote it.............

Loved to see all you people, hope you all got a kick out of the Christmas CD's.........
