MC played in my area quite frequently and everytime it was a packed house.We had our group of followers back in the 70's too but unforunately we were not lucky to stay in touch. I kept the dream alive for my son and my bro who are now MC believers. I am happy for what MC made possible to me and my family. We all have our own thing with this MC reunion business but one thing for sure. When we are at the shows we are all family.I have met so many wonderful people thru this experience and for that I am greatful! And to MC...you guys are the greatest.We all come together as one to see you play but MC put us all together! Thank You! This concludes the post from the non-KIAF guy! I think he missed the psychedelics and mind altering drugs. BUT In Gary's defense, look who the people are making these posts. See anybody much but KIAF people. That's where we get our tag from. Jeff Carr while probationary is in, in my book. If it needs to be Keep it Alive 10. I am for that too. If it ended up Keep it Alive 500. As Wayne would say "Excellent Garth" We found this band in the 1970s. They disappeared from our lives. Forever in our minds. Then we wake up into a dream and here they are. Better than EVER!!! Inclusion at this point is a need. We need all the interest we can. We need to make these 5 band members keep it alive too. The Original KIAF know who they are and wouldn't have it any other way but MC forever. No matter what. There will never be another Molkie Cole. And they are our's for now. And as I last looked at my drivers License I am not a spring chicken. Lets just enjoy. Now, there are alot of fans of Johnson&Johnson, Smith Brothers and Proctor and Gamble, and certainly feel themselves to be part of their respective families, but are they the founding fathers? It's amazing how a reunited band of over 30 years can bring so many wonderful people together to share a common bond. Kudos on an excellent post and please don't take the following personally... I'm afraid I have to vote Nay, Gary. Not because I want to exclude Jeff but because by including a number with the name I think we exclude others... Mark and Judy, Big Al, Greg and Lynne all come to mind as well as many other devoted fans. We've just been the loudest and thus were blessed with a label that has now outlived it's usefulness. If we're going to call ourselves anything I suggest the "Keep it Alive Family" where membership is granted to any and all MC Rockers. Seems I'm not the only one with a gift for words! Great Post Jeff!!! The first reunion show I attended, I had the same surreal experience, like it was wrong of me somehow, to rip a portal and go back in time to an old familiar friend. The thought of EVER seeing this band perform together never crossed my mind after all these years, and, when the band tore into "Everything's Going To Be Allright" (Even If It Takes A Long Time) I had Tears of disbelief rolling down my cheeks, much like old film footage of teenage girls watching the Beatles play. I have never been so emotionally drained in my life. For Me, It was if I'd won a Rock N Roll Lottery! To the other founding members of the "Keep It Alive Five", I Propose a new addition to our family, Jeff Carr from South Carolina! To wit; a new name change to reflect our newest member! I give you our "New" Name; "Old Dogs, New Tricks Six"!!!!!!!!!! All In Favor, Say AYE!!!!! Gary In Phoenix garyzworldcox.net  EntryNo: 1007  Date: Wednesday 09:41 01.13.2010 Jeff C Well it's been over a month since the Winchester shows. Seems like they were just this past weekend. What a great time, with great people, and our beloved MC. First, seeing the band again for the first time since the mid '70's for me was almost surreal. Remember when you went back to your old elementary school after growing up? The halls seemed so much smaller, the tiny desks that appeared so big when you were 6 years old. The school was the same, what changed was your perspective of it. Well the band, the stage presence of the guys, their voices and harmonies, their complete control of guitars and keys and drums, after over 30 years for me not only did not diminish or seem "smaller", it all was probably better than the great band that's been in my memory all that time. It was great to just absorb the band and their stage presence, which to me still is almost mesmerizing. As much as I enjoyed the show, meeting some great MC fans was, for me, the highlight of the trip. Gary, Jeff and other Keep It Alive Five guys couldn't have been more welcoming and fun to talk to and spend time with. The ladies I met were most gracious and make the show experience so much better for everyone. Gary, your documentary of the weekend is so "on point" it really needs no elaboration. Thanks for taking the time to put your thoughts into words. That's all for now. Can't wait until the next shows, whereever they are.
